Fun With Techno

free audionite

Boys Noize Records’ latest signing, Audionite killed it on his first release for BNR TRAX. This guy seems to have techno in his veins, it’s little surprise that he’s from Berlin. Anyway… here’s a lusciously filtering arpeggio over a beat that boysnoize are giving away in full 320K quality, so you can rave hard while you’re doing the dishes or something.

and stay tuned for news about the next monthly party. It’s in the works now and is shaping up to be preeeety special.

MOTORIK! mix 2 by Cosmonaut61

the technomads,

MOTORIK!

DANKE-MERCI-THANKYOU- GRACIAS-DOHJE-SPASIBO

Friday night’s MOTORIK! was amazing and it was all because of you, the true techno heads of this town.

What else can we say about such people, but to send out our deepest thank you’s and the maddest of props kids!

If you did come down and had problems getting because it was full (!!!) were sorry, we just hadn’t expected so many people!

Rest assured that we’ll be looking for a bigger venue for next time.

We look forward to seeing you all at the next MOTORIK!… coming soon…

high five with vi (The Kat)

VI

Former full time hedonist Vivi has managed to successfully time-share his role as party liason and deep druggy discotechno dj over the last 5 years. Somehow he was half the power beind the Disco Not Disco parties, co-founder of warehouse disco bonanza Picnic, and on staff at Lost Baggage, the legendary (and now sadly lost) techno rave cave extravaganza. The man is obviously no stranger to partying. He now produces raw techno power alongside Ash Moses as “The Kat” and lush piano house alongside Matt Cowley as “Aurore et Aimee”. We’re all looking forward to The Kat’s appearance at MOTORIK! tomorrow night… you should be too!

We asked Vi what 5 tracks are getting him high right now… I certainly hope he plays at least a few of these tomorrow - they’re all gold!

TUNNEL SIGNS

Introducing TUNNEL SIGNS. A new project brought to you by Ash Moses, a man known to Sydney-siders through the ages for his excellent, gurn inducing DJing, he is also one of the guys responsible for bringing you Death Strobe Records; an imprint which is making the music world a better place, one release at a time. We’re all looking forward to his debut release on Death Strobe, which we are promised is on it’s wayyy!!!

—TECHNO'BRIEN LIVE

Endtroducing Charile Chux, man about town.

But did you know he was also a man about techno?

Well put your ears on this mix he’s put together in honour of his upcoming appearance at the next MOTORIK! 05 AUGUST 2011, and you’ll see what he’s alllll about, and then…

email: motorik.motorik@gmail.com for venue details and associated vibe reports

HALLOGALLO

The first track off NEU!’s self titled album from 1972. What an introduction to the world. Hallogallo features a very early (possibly the first) example of the relentless beat that would come to be known as the motorik beat.

strap on some headphones and prepare to dissolve your mind.

pleased to announce… MOTORIK! returns next friday (05.08.11). A new Darlinghurst location. Same techno cats plus some new ones at the controls all night long. More techno than you can poke a bag of K at.
Come. Get. Deep.
Remember to email motorik.motorik@gmail.com for venue details. It’s the only way you’ll find out…
Oh and these guys are playing:
THE FINGER PRINCE :: SLOW BLOW :: COSMONAUT :: CHUX! :: THE KAT ::

Ken Ishii - Extra

One of those music videos that works amazingly well with the music.

He’s from Japan and obviously doesn’t hate a bit of the ol’ animated ultra-violence.

Came out in 1995, and still fresh as all hell.

Enjoyably disturbing.

I’ve become obsessed with Le Tour De France again this year.

Nothing like settling in to watch a climber’s stage while listening to Kraftwerk’s ‘Tour De France’, (either the 1983 version (above) or the 2003 one) and enjoying a glass or two of the old el vino.

Mes amie, la vie est belle

Hats off to these Techno originators

“I, being a techno, electronic, umm futurist high-tech musician, I totally believe in the future. But as well I believe in a historic and well kept past. I believe that there are some things that are important, it can make you realise how much you should respect.

Techno City, Folks, at its best.

Welcome Home.”

Derrick May

DJ/Composer

Detroit, USA

Some context for that Len Faki track posted yesterday.

Here’s Richie Hawtin playing it at The Monegros Desert Festival, Spain in 2009.

Context is so important.

It’s a fairly alright lighting rig they’re working with too, anyone know if we could borrow it for the next MOTORIK!…

coming real soon btw…

LEN FAKI - BX3

A light-hearted, relaxing, musical jaunt into the absolute heart of darkness.

If this was playing everytime you walked down the stairs into Motorik! i’d be pretty down with that.

that gives me an idea, a dedicated stairwell speaker playing musical vibes that can only be heard on the steps…

sweet idea riffing, me.

expect it at the next MOTORIK!…

—The Touch 'Sermon' (Cosmonaut Remix)

Speaking of melon twisting, COSMONAUT have done their 3AM thing for The Touch’s new toon ‘Sermon’.

Start listening cos we said, but keep listening for the sax freak out at the end. Luscious.

Out now on Kitsune.

conflict of interest you say? more like a conflict of disinterest…

is this thing even on?

—Azari & III - Manic (The Finger Prince 'Static Situation' Mix)

Melon twisting as brought to you by The Finger Prince. Their remix of Azari & III’s track ‘Manic’ has got us going a bit sideways.

More than a bit actually.
